What is Swift?
Swift is the pioneering new microwave therapy device for the skin. Plantar warts have long been a frustrating condition and finally, there is an answer. Unlike other destructive treatment methods, Swift targets the root cause of the wart, the HPV Virus. Microwave energy is introduced into the skin, heating cells to between 43 and 36 degrees Celsius. This heat initiates an immune cascade which allows the body to detect and attack the HPV virus, ridding the patient of this painful condition.
If you are one of the millions of people in the United States suffering from foot wart or plantar warts, let the journey to Freedom begin. Left untreated, the HPV Virus will persist and is unlikely to resolve. Plantar warts have long been a frustrating condition for both the patient and the doctor. We are here to help. Call us to book an appointment to find out more about how Swift can help get you back on your feet.
Summary of Microwave Therapy
Below is a quick summary of the outcomes Swift has delivered to the nearly 40,000 patients that have been treated in the United Kingdom:
- 98% of patients continue daily tasks as normal following the Swift Treatment
- 70% of patients rated the treatment 10/10
- 95% of patients would recommend Swift Treatment to a friend
How Does The Treatment Work?
The treatment protocol includes an average of 3-4 visits with each treatment lasting only 5-10 minutes. During each treatment you will receive multiple 2-second doses of microwave energy, the total dosage will vary based on the size and age of the lesion. Visits are spaced 4 weeks apart to coincide with the body’s immune cycle, with follow-up scheduled for 12 weeks following the final treatment. Complete resolution is aligned with the strength of your body’s immune response.
Does It Hurt?
Like many treatments for skin lesions, some minor discomfort may be experienced. Before treatment, your podiatrist may decide to reduce the lesion with a blade. Pain levels vary from person to person but most people undergoing Swift liken it to a pain similar to an injection or a scratch, lasting 2 – 3 seconds then quickly subsiding.
What Can I Do After Treatment?
In some cases, the treated area may feel sore but will not prevent you from undertaking normal daily activities.
What Our Patients Have to Say About Swift Therapy
Came for my 7-year old son’s wart on a toe. My sister in law, who herself is a podiatrist in Chicago, helped me find this practice that accepts our insurance. The doctor helped my son’s wart to be removed with relative ease. Thanks!
I had the swift therapy. It was the best thing for me.
If you are suffering from a stubborn plantar wart, I highly recommend Dr. Bhela. He is awesome. He is very aware of appointment times that you never have to wait in his office. He spends adequate time with me. He made a stubborn plantar wart for 1-year disappear in 3-months with SWIFT treatment. I had 2 SWIFT treatments and it went away! I highly recommend SWIFT for plantar wart and skip all other options. The staff was amazing and helpful with scheduling. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Hicksville Podiatry.
I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Bhela following several disappointing encounters with other Podiatrists. I had a refractory foot condition, unresponsive to numerous therapies from various experts over the course of almost five years!
In our first conversation, I knew that Dr. Bhela was the person who could fix my foot. Dr. Bhela and his excellent assistant Lovepreet, were able to provide the comprehensive and optimal personalized treatment I sought for so long. His bedside manner is exemplary as is his knowledge base and innovative mindset. He skillfully and completely resolved my issue without ever deviating from his initial care plan; in fact, everything he said would happen, happened. It even happened when he told me it would; very impressive from any clinician. I could not be more pleased and recommend him without reservation to anyone who seeks an invaluable podiatrist or has a challenging (or simple) condition.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
This is dependent on how you respond to treatment. In some cases, you may need more than one treatment (these can be from 14 days to over a month apart depending on the response). Your Podiatrist will be able to discuss this with you.
